About Me
Ever since I can remember I have been on a quest for understanding. To understand and know myself deeply, to be understood and to understand others. For me, understanding leads to acceptance, love and safety through connection. As a highly sensitive person (or HSP), self-understanding has been crucial for me in navigating my way through life in a way that softens the inevitable bumps that HSPs face in the world.
My own journey of self-discovery and healing has included mindfulness and meditation practices, individual and group psychotherapy, as well as movement- and body-based practices. All of which I believe help in the healing process. Trauma healing particularly needs to incorporate many of these elements. Within Internal Family Systems (IFS) I have found much of this within the one model and have seen the healing capacity of it in my own life and the lives of others.
I am passionate about creating safe and nurturing relationship both in the therapeutic space and within people's own internal system. I guide people to use Internal Family Systems, Attachment theory and Polyvagal Theory to understand themselves deeply, know their own intrinsic goodness and support themselves in their difficulties. I truly believe that when we learn how to listen to ourselves and validate our own experience, everything about who we are are how we engage in the world makes sense. And when we make sense to ourselves we can begin to make a loving home inside ourselves and with others.
